George Walbye
Although Colorado sculptor George Walbye is an artist who has spent his entire life in the Rocky Mountain West, his sculpture moves beyond ordinary perception of western art. A series of bronze bowls and lidded pots for which Walbye is especially noted use elements inspired by American Indian art and ornamentation, but there is a contemporary quality in their design. George was born in Rawlins, Wyoming and spent boyhood summers working on ranches near the area homesteaded by his grandfather at Whiskey Gap. George is one of five founding artists of Sculpture in the Park Show and 2026 will be his 42nd consecutive show. For additional information, please visit www.WalbyeArtStudio.com.
