Little did he know that moving to France to study physics would result in a lifelong love affair with sculpture. Evening classes at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Clermont-Ferrand provided a foundation that, after returning to the US, initially manifested in a related three-dimensional art form, architecture. However, having never lost his appreciation for the art of sculpture, he continued his studies with masters, yielding the work we see today. Although most of Yon’s work is sold through galleries, sometime this summer, one of his larger sculptures will greet patients at the new veterinary teaching hospital on the campus of Colorado State University.
