Wayne Trinklein

St. Peter’s, Missouri

Wayne Trinklein, a former Family Doctor now living in Missouri, has spent 45 years developing a unique sculptural expression in heat-fired, molded copper and tin, mounted in rock. Using his own metal alloys, heated to their eutectic point, he sculpts curves and textures as if they were clay. In his trees, he uses naturalistic arboreal anatomy and features to portray the human condition. Twisted limbs, split trunks, and probing roots portray relationships, struggle, and adaptation.

Today, his sculptures sit on the desks of 5 Governors. They have been commissioned to honor many leaders and to memorialize loved ones. His goal is to make beautiful, familiar trees that honor people for exactly who they are.
