Nnamdi Okonkwo

Fayetteville, Georgia

Born in Nigeria, Nnamdi always had a passion for art. He was recruited by BYU-Hawaii to play basketball, where he also nourished his artistic talent, and graduated with a BFA in sculpture. He later received his MFA from BYU-Provo.

Nnamdi’s sculptures of rotund forms symbolize the abundance of life, an outward manifestation of a largeness of soul. “My inspiration comes from the aspect of the human soul that I find sublimely beautiful, a projection of my deep personal belief that there is a divine essence to the human spirit.”

Okonkwo’s monumental works can be found throughout the world, including China, Hong Kong, and the United States.
