After earning a B.A, Maria Battista followed her artistic spirit to Colorado 44 years ago. Rutgers University and M.A., University of Kansas. She intuits in a contemplative way images that reveal humanity’s collective interior life in figurative bronze sculptures. Trips to Italy for extended study honed her classical orientation. In 2024, she was included in the National Sculpture Society’s Annual Awards Exhibit and was awarded in the Portrait Society of America’s members competition. “Calypso” was featured on the cover of Colorado Journeys Magazine, and “Eternal Fiesta” was installed in the E.B. Rains Park in Northglenn, CO in 2025. Memberships include the NSS, the Portrait Society, and American Women Artists.
