Jake Balcom, a self-taught artist with a background in architecture and biology, has been creating metal art for over 25 years. His work transforms rigid geometries into flowing compositions that bridge the industrial and natural worlds. Known for intricate yet clean designs, he blends old-world techniques with modern technology to craft dynamic, site-specific sculptures. Constantly exploring new materials, styles, and fabrication methods, he creates pieces that capture motion and the beauty of Mother Nature. With numerous public art installations across the central and western U.S. and over 200 private commissions, he continues his work from his studio in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District.
