Gary Hall

Springville, Utah

Gary Hall started his college studies at Brigham Young University in Utah as an engineering student. While taking a Ceramics class to fulfill a general education requirement, he found a passion for creating art from clay. After completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics, Gary went on to work at art bronze foundries and learned the skills to transform clay into bronze. He also attained a Master of Fine Arts degree from BYU with an emphasis in Ceramics and sculpture.

From 2011 to 2017, Gary served in the Utah Army National Guard. Most of that time was with the 214th Forward Support Company, distributing fuel and ammunition to support the missions of the 65th Field Artillery Brigade.

Currently, Gary teaches sculpture at Utah Valley University. His work is represented by the Urban Arts Gallery in Salt Lake City. The city of Springville acquired one of Gary's bronze biomorphic abstractions as part of its public Arts program. This piece is installed on Main Street in Springville.
