Doug Felkley

Longmont, Colorado

Longmont-based artist Doug Felkley is a teacher, sculptor, and sometimes reluctant furniture maker. Felkley earned a Fine Furniture Craftsman certificate from Red Rocks Community College and teaches woodworking at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder. Often drawing inspiration from found objects, Felkley uses fine woodworking techniques to explore the relationship between natural and man-made shapes.
Felkley has shown his work at the Foothills Art Center, Curtis Center for the Arts, and Thompson Valley Regional Art Show (placing 2nd in 3-D sculpture). Most recently, he was the Firehouse Art Center's Winter Artist-in-Residence. This three-month residency culminated with a solo exhibition of his work in February 2026.
