Diana McClaran

Belgrade, Montana

Diana McClaran is a Montana-based wildlife and equine bronze sculptor working in the lost-wax casting tradition. Raised on a ranch in Iowa, she developed an early connection to animals that continues to guide her work. Her background in a bronze foundry shaped her understanding of the casting process, and she remains closely involved in the waxwork and hand-applied patinas. McClaran’s sculptures focus on animals great and small, capturing natural movement with a hint of personality and quiet humor. Her work emphasizes realism paired with a subtle sense of whimsy. She has exhibited in regional and national juried shows and is a two-time recipient of the Marilyn Newmark Award for Realistic Sculpture.
