4 New Sculptures and More! to be Added to Benson Garden
Sculpture Dedication Saturday, July 29 - 10am North Lake Park Benson Sculpture Garden
We are excited to invite you to the Dedication of four new sculptures and a hand-forged iron gate to be added to Benson Sculpture Garden on Saturday, July 29 at 10am.
The new gate will be installed at the entrance to the park on Aspen and 29th and the four sculptures are all being installed at the North Lake Park section of the Garden.
The Dedication will take place at the North Lake Park gardens, just west of the Loveland High School parking lot.
Please join us in congratulating the artists and celebrating the results of a successful Sculpture in the Park show.
“Roundbottomus Hippopotamus :-)” by Missouri artist Tim Cherry: A “hands-on” six-foot-plus long bronze hippo with a large round bottom.
“Four Generations,” by Colorado artist Felicia: A simply designed 5-and-a-half-foot bronze sculpture depicting four generations of Native American women.
“Morning Flight,” by Northern Colorado artist Adam Schultz: A 12-foot sculpture depicting a stylized bronze hawk casting its shadow across the sheer rock face, while the shadow of a rabbit escaping can be seen on a smaller boulder in front.
“Amazing Grace,” by Loveland-based artist Shari Vines: Features a four-foot Blue Heron perched on sandstone base unfurling its wings.
Benson Sculpture Garden Entrance Gate – by Black Birch Studio and Makely Metal Art: The Loveland High Plains Arts Council feels that the main entrance gates to Benson Sculpture Garden should be both dynamic and inviting to the public, establishing a gateway to the Park’s aesthetic beauty and sculptural art. This forged iron design by Black Birch Studio and Makely Metal Art will allow Sculpture in the Park to restrict access during the annual show yet remain open the majority of the year. It is designed to be both functional yet a piece of art in itself.
We are also planning to redo the gardens surrounding the gate, creating a fresh and exciting new entrance.
