Lauri Dunn-Peterson
Denver, Colorado
Lauri begins each piece by photographing insect wings, then transforming the photographs into geometric forms to create larger geometric patterns. These patterns serve as a universal language of form, connecting individuals to the depths of geometry, science, and the natural world. In this exploration Lauri invites others to find solace, awe, and a connection to the interplay between imagery, form and pattern. Lauri holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art festivals nationwide. She has received several prestigious awards, including "Best of Colorado" at the Foothills Artsweek and a Merit Award at the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival.
