Working from live models, I manipulate clay into sculpted figures. Pinch by pinch, the clay is slowly transformed to render a model’s body shape and pose. The model is my reference; I use artistic liberty and alter proportions or exaggerate gestures. This allows me to capture a life-like presence." Laura Lee received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University. She lives in Utah. Making the world a more beautiful place to live is her goal. Notable works include Martha Hughes Cannon, an eight-foot bronze monument at the Utah State Capitol, and Celebration of Healing, an eighteen-foot bronze in Monroe, Louisiana.
